Pregnancy is the biggest gift of them all. Its so incredible How Animals and Humans cary their babies, honestly, remarkable to me. And the older i get. More and more fascinated i get from this journey. I can see my self working more in this field, on the side of photography. Pregnancy truly is so special. It is magical as a matter of fact. It can be a breece for some women, and for some, it can be honestly crappy, it can come with heart aches but it ALWAYS come with joy. I personally have had one pregnancy that was AMAZING, felt so so. but it was amazing, i had my health. (little sleep tho) But i felt good.
Second time i got to carry life again. It weren’t so bloomy. It was actually beyond horrible. We had lots of unknowns, but i was also in great pain the entire pregnancy. As the firs time around the pregnancy came with sleep problems. But second time. I had little to NO sleep.
That is probably the hardest i have ever done. I distinctly remember lying in the bath tub. Filling it up, every time the water got cold, unable to move. I think i was around 32 weeks. One of those days i laid there for 6 hours. I had slept only a handful of times for maximum 15 min in a 6 day period. It was brutal.
BUT still. Fuck! It was so worth it! SO SO worth it.
And i am happy i did document so many parts of it. Even tho it sucked. And as the memory has faded of the pain, the memory of growing a baby inside, and looking at him play remains the strongest. Just joy!
One of my favorite session to photograph is maternity. And as we have the most beautiful beaches here in Punta Cana, Dominican republic. I LOVE to capture them in this element. Honoring the wait of a new chapter in Life.
